The 2023 Formula 1 season doesn’t start up again for another 2 weeks. The racing grid won’t hit the track again until the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, April 30th.
There is no need to worry if you are new to Formula 1 betting as our all-encompassing Formula 1 betting guide can answer any betting question you can think of.
The Chinese Grand Prix was originally scheduled to take place this weekend, but it was canceled yet again. However, despite being in the middle of this racing hiatus there are tons of valuable F1 bets to make.
Formula 1 2023 Season Bets
We will focus on some of the head-to-head season matchup bets and evaluate which driver should end the season with more points.
|Formula 1 Season Bets|
Hamilton or Russell?
Starting with Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton is favored over George Russell to the tune of -170 odds at Bovada. The seven-time world champion holds a lead of 20 points in the driver’s championship standings.

There is a lot of racing left, so I could understand the temptation to back Russell as Hamilton’s contract status for next season is uncertain. In addition to the contract status, Hamilton is 38 years old, one has to wonder how long he wants to keep racing.
I would recommend betting on Lewis Hamilton to have more points than George Russell by the season’s end.

Norris or Piastri?
Now onto the McLaren team that has had a tumultuous start to the season, to say the least. There was a lot of drama regarding the departure of Daniel Ricciardo and the arrival of Oscar Piastri.
It seems like McLaren was worried more about the drivers they had on their team than the car they were using. They’ve had a very disappointing start to the season, only claiming points due to a disaster of a finish at the Australian GP.

Norris only having a 4-point lead over Piastri but being a -700 favorite doesn’t make sense. I would advise taking advantage of this mistake by the oddsmakers and betting on Piastri at +425 odds.
Sargeant or Albon?
Taking a closer look at the drivers for Williams provides some valuable options. This was another interesting pricing by oddsmakers having Alex Albon as a -450 favorite. The difference between Albon and Logan Sargeant is 1 point.
Williams doesn’t have the strongest team and struggled in Australia a few weeks ago.

Even though they struggled last race in Australia, I could see Sargeant finishing with more points than Albon. Although Sargeant is a rookie driver, the difference between him and Albon is razor-thin.
I would recommend betting on Logan Sargeant to finish with more points than Alex Albon.
The best bet for the 2023 Formula 1 season head-to-head matchups is Logan Sargeant at +300 odds. With only one point separating the drivers it feels like the oddsmaker’s mistake can be your gain.
If you would like to add some variety to your betting slip, I would also recommend parlaying Sargeant at +300 and Piastri at +425 to get a +2000 parlay payout. The 20 to-1 odds are tough to turn down when the plays are this strong.
