2021 Wimbledon Betting Predictions

Wimbledon’s makes its triumphant return in 2021 after not happening last year. You will need to go back to 1945 to find the last year no competition was held at Wimbledon (with no competition from 1940 to 1945 due to World War II). However, 2020 was a challenging year, and Wimbledon was one of the biggest sporting events cancelled.

Tennis bettors are excited now the event makes its return in 2021, with the event running from June 28 to July 11.  There is talent on both sides of the tournament – and some great betting opportunities on who will win. Get ready for it with our 2021 Wimbledon betting predictions.

It’s a legend of tennis against the field when the Men’s 2021 Wimbledon tournament kicks off at the end of June.

Novak Djokovic Favoured to Three-peat

He has been the best tennis player in the last five years, so it no surprise Novak Djokovic is at the top of our Wimbledon betting predictions. Djokovic has won the previous two Wimbledon, improving his record to 72-10 at the event.

Djokovic has won 18 Grand Slams in his career, trailing only Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal (20 each as of June 7). However, unlike those two, the Joker is in the midst of his prime. He won the 2021 Australian Open in February – making it three straight championships there.

He is also the highest-ranked player in the world, which always set him up a slightly easier path to the finals. Overall, any tennis fan knows Novak Djokovic is the smartest bet to win a Grand Slam.

A Federer Farewell At Wimbledon

This Wimbledon could be the last for tennis legend Roger Federer. Federer turns 40 in August and recently talked about the uncertainty around his tennis future at the French Open. Even though he is nearly 40, Federer is among the favourites on Wimbledon tennis odds at +800 to win Wimbledon.

Federer’s had his most success at Wimbledon. His first Grand Slam win came at Wimbledon in 2003, while his most recent championship there was four years ago.

After withdrawing from the 2021 French Open, Federer likely goes all in at Wimbledon, and with the fans backing him, he has a shot at one final Grand Slam.

Daniel Evans the Underdog to Back at Wimbledon

Daniel Evans is a significant underdog at +10000, but he has been climbing the ATP Tour rankings.

At the last Wimbledon in 2019, Daniel Evans ranked 65 before the start of the tournament. Coming into this year, Evans is much higher, reaching his peak in May at number 26 in the world. The British tennis player is also coming off his best performance at Wimbledon – making the third round in 2019.

He upset number 18 Nikoloz Basilashvili before bowing out to Joao Sousa in five sets. If Evans gets a favourable draw, he is worth placing a small bet on at Wimbledon.

Simona Halep Can Repeat as the Winner at Wimbledon

Simona Halep skipped the French Open to deal with a muscle injury but is currently practising, and it looks like she will be 100% to go in time for Wimbledon. When healthy, Simona Halep is one of the best players in the world and coming off a dominating win at the 2019 Wimbledon’s Women’s Championship.

Halep beat Serena Williams in 6-2, 6-2 (in only 56 minutes) to win the tournament. Her performance had her going into the 2020 tournament as the favourite before its cancellation. As long as she is healthy this year, she is our favourite to win again.

Sofia Kenin Has a Chance at Her Second Grand Slam

While she has yet to have much success at Wimbledon, Sofia Kenin is a much better player since the last tournament in 2019. Kenin plays best on fast surfaces showing off her skills when she won the 2020 Australian Open.

She has won on grass before – winning the Mallorca Open in 2019. I expect Kenin to put up a great fight against anyone at Wimbledon and would not be surprised to see the 22-year-old clinching her second Grand Slam title.

Elena Rybakina is the Perfect Mid-Range Underdog at Wimbledon

The perfect mid-range underdog (in that +2500 to +4000 range) to bet at Wimbledon is Elena Rybakina. Rybakina has a powerful serve and improving her overall skills just in time for Wimbledon.

Turning 22 a week before the tournament, Rybakina does not have much experience at Grand Slams. Her best performances have come at the Australian Open – where her powerful serve can benefit her, like at Wimbledon.

She also has wins over Simona Halep, Sofia Kenin, and Serena Williams in her career. Her ability to beat the best in the world proves she can compete at Wimbledon this year.
