Australian Open: Expect Novak Back in Form by the Australian Open

Maybe the pressure got to Novak Djokovic – as he could not capture the Golden Slam or the Calendar Slam. Even if it did a bit, he is still the best player in the world – and one of the best players ever. One of the reasons he is one of the best players ever – nine Australian Open titles. He is unbeatable in Melbourne. His 91% winning percentage at the event is the best at any event in his career. Too hard to bet against him at his premier event.

French Open: One Last Chance for Nadal to Add to His Legacy

If you think Djokovic’s nine titles at the Australian Open are impressive then Nadal’s record at the French Open is nearly unfathomable. Nadal has won the event 13 times. His record all-time at Roland Garros is 105-3 or 97.2% win rate. While he may have lost to Djokovic last year, we expect him back and ready to win again in 2022.

Wimbledon: The Icing on Roger Federer’s Career

Maybe it is wishful thinking but Roger Federer getting one last Grand Slam better calling it would be poetic. Federer’s dealt with injuries the last two years – but is still 14-6 dating back to the 2020 Australian Open

Federer’s record at Wimbledon is 105-14 and includes a record eight titles. Even without winning since 2017, he has three quarter-finals appearances and made it to the Finals in 2019 (not held in 2020) at the last three tournaments. What he has left in the tank, we expect to see at Wimbledon and hope for a glorious end to his illustrious career.

US Open: Alexander Zverev Picks Up His First Grand Slam

After Daniil Medvedev won his first Grand Slam, the next guy due to win one is Alexander Zverev. Zverev made the finals in 2020 – losing in a gruelling five-set match to Dominic Thiem. This year he battled Novak Djokovic to five sets in the semi-finals in 2021.

Zverev also went on the best runs of any player this season – not named Djokovic. He won 16 straight on hard surfaces – including the Olympic Gold and the Cincinnati Masters. He is about to enter his prime and can win a Grand Slam next year.

Australian Open: Ashleigh Barty Brings it Home for Australia

Ashleigh Barty will look to end the drought when she heads home to compete in the 2022 Australian Open. The last Australian woman to win the tournament was Chris O’Neil back in 1978. Now Barty looks to bring the trophy home. She is the top-ranked woman in the world and played well at the Australian Open the last few years.

From 2017, she is 17-5 at the tournament. Her best finish is a semi-finals appearance in 2020. She is only getting better since then. She is 42-8 (after the 2021 US Open) with three wins this year. We expect her to be in top form for the 2022 Australian Open and is the best bet to make (early) to win.

French Open: Simona Halep Back to Form on Clay

Last year, injuries derailed Halep’s season, causing her to miss time and underperform. However, if she can get back to form in 2022 – she is one of the best players on clay. In 2020, she won 13 straight on clay – taking home titles at the 2020 WTA Prague Open and WTA Madrid Open. At the French Open, she has made at least the fourth round for five straight years, including the finals twice. She won the tournament in 2018. She did not play in 2021 due to injury.

Wimbledon: A Second Major for Emma Raducanu?

If Emma Raducanu is going to become the next global tennis mega-star, she is going to need more than one Grand Slam. And if she is going to add another in 2022, we like her chances and tennis betting odds at Wimbledon

Before her win at the 2021 US Open, the United Kingdom’s upcoming star shocked many at Wimbledon. Raducanu made the Round of 16 at Wimbledon. It was her first Grand Slam appearance and pivotal for her qualifying for the 2021 US Open. Now, with the experience and fans backing her – she can win another big one in 2022.

US Open: A Picturesque End for Serena Williams

This pick is somewhat like the one for Roger Federer – where we want to see a legend win one last title before calling it a career. Serena Williams is not too far removed from her appearance in the US Open Finals, losing to Canadian Bianca Andreescu. See also made two other finals in 2019 and picked up a win at the WTA Auckland Open in 2020.

If she takes her absence away from tennis to focus on making one final go of it, we think we could capture one more US Open and end her career as a winner.
