A Missouri Senator is Confident in 2025 Sports Betting

For a while now, Missouri sports betting news has been a bit up in arms. On one side of things, plenty of people are hopeful that things will get done in the near future, while there are still plenty of people who oppose the project moving forward. Luckily, plenty of politicians in the state are ready to try and keep the push going strong. With that said, a Missouri Senator is confident in 2025 sports betting arriving for sports fans.

That would be Senator Tony Luetkemeyer, a Republican who wants to see Missouri move forward with a sports betting bill. As things stand, nearly 40 states in the USA have approved legal sports betting. By next year, we could see that number go north of 40. While it remains up in the air if Missouri will find a way to get things approved or not, Luetkemeyer has voiced many times in the past that he’s all for sports betting being introduced. From his chair, 2025 would be the perfect time to finalize things.

“This legislation is about two things: one, making sure that we’re keeping those educational tax dollars here in Missouri and not subsidizing the schools of our border states. And secondly, making sure we’re setting up a regulated environment where consumers are protected,” Luetkemeyer said in an interview with the St. Louis Public Radio earlier this month on Missouri landing sports betting.

The big thing for Missouri is they have to make sure the right kind of sports betting bill is presented to legislation and then to the voters. We’ve seen the state try and rush things in the past, only for a bill to get rejected. The hope from a lot of people is that a proper bill can be developed and then everyone can meet in the middle when it’s time to make some adjustments or changes. It will be interesting to see if the next steps can be taken, but there’s optimism that history can be made in ’25.

St. Louis fans will miss out on MLB betting again this season

While the latest update is good, it doesn’t take away from the fact that St. Louis fans will miss out on MLB betting again this season. The St. Louis Cardinals are one of the most historic teams in Major League Baseball and they have plenty of World Series glory to their name. With that said, the team will look to make noise in the NL Central this year. While they don’t have strong MLB betting odds to win the division, you never know what might happen.

Having said that, people in Missouri have been dying to be able to place bets on their favorite team, but that’s not an option. The hope is that by the time Opening Day gets here next season, people in the state will be able to place futures bets on the Cardinals. You never know where their World Series betting odds might be once the 2025 campaign gets here. Should things get done by then, we fully anticipate MLB wagers to be sky-high for the state.

However, it’s unknown when things will get done next year. If Missouri is able to get everything put in place by early January, then it will also have a big impact for NFL betting too (more on that below). With baseball, though, it’s 100 percent one of the best sports for people to watch in the area. If online betting is also approved by legislation, it’s only going to make things even better for the state.

Down the road, we should have more answers on when legal betting will get done for Missouri, but we think MLB action would be quite popular. The Cardinals are a fun team to watch, but their games will be made even more interesting if people are allowed to bet on them as well. Could we see that happen in 2025? It’s tough to say right now, but we could have a better idea for things in the coming months.

Super Bowl betting could be in place for Missouri by 2025

Depending on the timing of things for next year, Super Bowl betting could be in place for Missouri by 2025. Other than the Cardinals, the Kansas City Chiefs are arguably the most popular team that people pay attention to. In back-to-back seasons, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have captured Super Bowl glory.

Now, they’re hoping to win it all again and they already have the No. 1 NFL betting odds to capture the Lombardi Trophy next season. It’s been a busy offseason for the Chiefs, highlighted by giving Chris Jones his monster extension. We can’t wait to see if KC will be able to post a three-peat next year.

With all of that said, the Super Bowl will take place in February next winter. There’s a chance that online betting could be set in stone for Missouri by then. If that’s the case, and the Chiefs are in action, then we think the numbers could be downright sensational for the state. This will all be something to monitor moving forward, no doubt about that.
