Washington Mask Mandate Will Have a Huge Impact on Sports Betting

The success of Washington sports betting has been impressive to see, as the numbers continue to be on the up and up. While plenty of folks take advantage of online mobile apps, placing bets in person is also fun. Now, the new Washington mask mandate will have a huge impact on sports betting, but in a positive way. That’s because things are about to be eliminated by Governor Jay Inslee.

Earlier this week, it was announced Inslee that masks will no longer be required indoors. In some additional exciting news, Inslee said that things would be moved up by nine days, with masks no longer being mandatory for businesses on March 12 instead of March 21. With this, it’s only going to entice more and more people to make their way to sportsbooks and casinos to make some bets.

“We’ve continued to monitor data from our state Department of Health, and have determined we are able to adjust the timing of our statewide mask requirement,” Inslee said in a release letting everyone know of his plans. “While this represents another step forward for Washingtonians, we must still be mindful that many within our communities remain vulnerable.”

Though the battle against COVID-19 isn’t fully over, this marks another positive step for Washington. At the same time, the numbers for visitors to sportsbooks figures to only increase now that masks won’t be mandatory. Washington saw a huge number of bets being placed for the Super Bowl. Now, more exciting times are ahead with March Madness and the NFL Draft right around the corner for folks to enjoy.

Seahawks fans are believing in the team against thanks to new Russell Wilson news

Over on the gridiron, Seahawks fans are believing in the team again thanks to new Russell Wilson news. In case you missed it, head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider revealed that multiple teams continue to try and trade for the superstar quarterback. However, the Hawks have informed other organizations that they have no plans of trading Wilson. This is big for Seattle.

When healthy, Wilson is no question one of the best QBs out there. However, Seattle went 7-10 last year, which caused for plenty of trade rumors to once again start firing up. Wilson has been linked with potential moves to New York, Las Vegas, Chicago and more. However, it’s clear that Seattle has a strong belief in him, and they won’t be entertaining any kind of offers teams send their way.

“At this time of year, there’s conversations about everybody,” Carroll said via ESPN. “We’re talking about everybody. And that’s commonplace for us to have conversations with teams about all of the players,  particularly marquee players, and that’s not changed. It’s been the same every year we’ve been here. So it’s the same as it’s been. We have no intention of making any move there.”

That quote from Carroll should fire fans all over Washington up, as Wilson is no question the man to lead the offense out onto the field next season. Everyone is hoping for a bounce-back year for Seattle, as people want to place NFL playoffs bets on them. With Wilson locked in as the QB, the team’s NFL odds are surely going to be higher heading into the new season.

MLB lockout isn’t going to help Washington sports betting

It goes without saying, but the MLB lockout isn’t going to help Washington sports betting unless things get resolved in the near future. Earlier in the week, the MLB and MLBPA once again connected to try and settle their disputes, but the latest offer was turned down. Because of this, Opening Day has been delayed and no one has any idea of when the new season will get underway. This is troubling for everyone.

For the Seattle Mariners, the team has high expectations this year, as they’re hoping they can end their long streak of missing the playoffs. Seattle hasn’t sniffed the postseason since 2001. Yes, it’s been 20 years of heartbreak for the Seattle faithful, but they’re hoping that the club’s young talent, including Jarred Kelenic, can help this club finally get over the top and make some serious noise from start to finish.

However, this MLB lockout really is a dark cloud hanging over everyone. The worry is that things could potentially keep going for a few more weeks, which would be a massive blow. Countless people are furious with Rob Manfred and are calling for him to step down as MLB commissioner. He needs to get things settled as soon as possible and not let things get out of hand.

For Seattle, they’ll be ready to rock whenever the lockout ends and they could even add some key pieces in free agency. Should that happen, then this team’s MLB odds are only going to increase over time. It could be a season to remember at T-Mobile Park. First, however, this lockout must get settled in order for Mariners fans to cheer on their team.
