Washington Sports Betting Was on Fire for MLB All-Star Game

It has proven to be a summer to remember for Washington sports betting news, as the Major League Baseball All-Star Game made its way to Seattle earlier this month. With that, the streets of the Emerald City were packed with fans from all over the world to check out the action. Not only that, but you already know the wagers were flowing too. With that said, Washington sports betting was one fire for MLB All-Star Weekend.

While the official numbers won’t be posted until early next month, a report states that the local sportsbooks around/near Seattle were packed throughout the week and that the numbers indeed were spiked. This is obviously fantastic news and something that lawmakers were hoping to see. It had been over 20 years since Seattle last hosted the All-Star Game, so the expectation was that a lot of tourists would be in town.

While the ASG in itself was a lot of fun, don’t forget that a lot of people were putting in a lot of bets on the Home Run Derby as well. Mariners slugger Julio Rodriguez received a lot of bets to win it, as he finished in second place last year. Unfortunately for the local fans, J-Rod was eliminated in the semifinals by Vlad Guererro Jr. In the end, Guerrero Jr. ended up winning it all, following in his father’s footsteps.

Despite Rodriguez not coming out on top, T-Mobile Park was packed with fans to watch the action. Countless bets were placed on the HR Derby – and with a lot of those wagers being placed on Rodriguez, this surely resulted in a lot of revenue for the state. All in all, the All-Star Game could not have gone much better for Seattle and Washington state as a whole. We’re excited to see the final numbers from a betting standpoint.

Baseball betting as a whole has been high in Washington this summer

What’s been great overall is that baseball betting as a whole has been high in Washington this summer. The Seattle Mariners are a popular team in the state, with fans hoping that they can get back to the postseason for the second year in a row. The Mariners  are right around .500 right now, which isn’t going to cut it, but fans have been checking the MLB betting odds passionately to place bets on this team.

Seattle is loaded with a lot of young talent, with the list including Rodriguez, Cal Raleigh, Ty France and others. With Rodriguez, he’s coming off a season in which he took home AL Rookie of the Year honors. His production has dropped a bit this campaign, but people are hoping that he can catch fire during the season half of the season to try and get this team to the postseason. He’s got what it takes to get that job done.

Overall, the Mariners receive a lot of hype, but people in the state are also betting big on other teams as well. The Atlanta Braves are a popular betting squad across the country, as they currently hold the top World Series betting odds. Atlanta feels like a lock to not only go on to win the NL East, but also make a deep postseason run. Ronald Acuña Jr. is also the betting favorite to win NL MVP.

In the American League, the Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees are always going to be popular squads as well. While the Yankees have been quite inconsistent this year, a lot of baseball fans believe that they have what it takes to wake up from this battle with inconsistency and make a strong push late in the season. It won’t be easy, but a healthy Aaron Judge can change things for them.

Seahawks bets are starting to roll in with training camp here

Elsewhere in more good news, Seahawks bets are starting to roll in with training camp here. Things kicked off for Seattle earlier this week and people can’t wait to see what this team will be able to get done in the preseason and then the regular season starting with Week 1 as well. Quarterback Geno Smith is ready to post another big year for the offense, while the additions on defense are pumped up too.

No. 5 overall pick Devon Witherspoon is going to be ready to do big things in his first year with Seattle. The hope too is that second-year running back Kenneth Walker will not only be able to stay healthy, but also be a force for the ground game as well in 2023.

Veteran head coach Pete Carroll is back for yet another year with the team. The Seahawks may not have the best Super Bowl betting odds right now, but there’s no question that they’ll be a team to watch in the NFC West. We’ll see if Seattle will get back to the playoffs this winter. With so much talent on both sides of the ball, we have a strong feeling they’ll be ready to deliver there.
