Washington State is Seeing a Spike in Sports Betting This Fall

As you might have been able to guess in this case, things have been booming for Washington sports betting news in recent weeks, which has been great because things hit a bit of a lull over the summer. Right now, major sports are in action, with the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Kraken in action. Don’t forget that the Washington Huskies are one of the best NCAA football teams too. Because of all that, it’s no surprise that Washington State is seeing a spike in sports betting this fall.

According to a report, the sports betting handle for Washington over the past three months indeed has gone up compared to the previous three months. This is great news. While the Seattle Mariners had people checking the MLB betting odds quite a bit, they ended up dropping the ball late in the season and they didn’t advance to the playoffs. Because of this, and with their struggles over the summer, some of the numbers dropped.

However, the return of football has led for the numbers to skyrocket. In the NFL, the Seahawks are a top team in the NFC and they’re coming off a thrilling win against the Washington Commanders. While the San Francisco 49ers still hold the top NFL betting odds to win the NFC West, Seattle should still be able to sneak into the playoffs via a Wild Card spot. This would of course be amazing for the sports betting figures this winter.

The Seahawks are led on offense by quarterback Geno Smith and standout running back Kenneth Walker. On defense, the young studs are making plenty of noise, which has been great to see. We’re still waiting on the official numbers for October, but something tells us the good vibes are going to keep on rolling for the state. Football is king in Seattle and the betting figures back that up. Things are only going to be more impressive as we inch closer to January.

The Huskies will keep football betting high over the next month

With the way they’re playing, there’s no question the Huskies will keep football betting high over the next month. As things stand, UW is ranked the No. 5 team in the College Football Playoff Rankings. While they’re on the outside looking in for the CFP, the Huskies are playing like one of the top teams in the country and people all over the state have been rushing to get their bets in on them.

Michael Penix Jr. remains the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, as he’s been nothing short of spectacular this season. In the past two games, the left-handed signal-caller has led the Huskies to primetime wins over USC and Utah. Now, Penix and UW have a tall task ahead of them, as they’ll be taking on the Oregon State Beavers in an electric matchup this weekend. With a win, the Huskies will keep their title dreams alive. This could be a close game, but the coaches and players are feeling confident.

“We are completely just focused on Oregon State,” Head coach Kalen DeBoer said when talking about this week’s game against the Beavers. “We understand how that next game sets us up for the opportunity for (a championship) and that’s certainly a goal of ours to be in the championship, but it’s more about being a championship-level team and continuing to have those traits that exist within those teams.”

If UW and DeBoer can take care of business against the Beavers, it will give them a ton of confidence ahead of the 2023 Apple Cup. The rivalry game with Washington State University is always an interesting one and there’s going to be a lot on the line this season, especially with it being the final year of the Pac-12. It will be interesting to see how things shape out there, but UW will be monster favorites and hold strong NCAAF betting odds against the Cougars. It could be a lopsided game too.

Slow start for the Kraken has impacted NHL bets

While overall things have been solid for Washington state sports wagers, keep in mind that the slow start for the Kraken has impacted NHL bets. We expect those numbers to get back on track soon, but Seattle is 5-8-3 as of this writing. No one expected the Kraken to look this rough early on in the season, as they went on a deep playoff run last year and there was plenty of buzz surrounding them this campaign.

Unfortunately, Seattle has not lived up to the hype and we’re seeing other Western Conference teams play much better than them right now. So, what gives? The Kraken are a young team and they’re lacking some veteran leadership at some key positions. With that said, we’re only 16 games into 2023 and there’s still plenty of time for this team to get things going in the right direction. Once Seattle plays to its potential and starts winning games, NHL betting should be popular once again here.
