The biggest NFL betting story this week is Myles Garrett’s move to the Rams, which has already shifted Super Bowl and Defensive Player of the Year markets. Bettors are also tracking Baker Mayfield’s contract standoff in Tampa and Brandon Aiyuk’s uncertain future in San Francisco. Here’s what moved and what to watch next.

Having said that, we recently covered Week 1 NFL lines being out, with some mouth-watering games on the way. Soon enough, the preseason will get going too and we have seen some huge trades and offseason signings that are going to change the way the season looks in a big way. With all of that said, we’ve got plenty of storylines for you to focus on right now, with the Myles Garrett trade of course being at the top of the list.

The biggest NFL betting storylines this week

  • As you’re hopefully aware of by now, the month got started with an incredible trade. In terms of the NFL betting analysis, it’s safe to say that the Rams only helped their Super Bowl betting hopes by bringing in pass-rusher Myles Garrett. Garrett, a former first-round pick, is one of the best players in all of football and Los Angeles worked its magic to bring him in from Cleveland. It’s a move people are still talking about – we’ll have more on that below.
  • Next up on our list are the contract talks between Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mayfield, a former first-round pick too, is not happy with his contract situation and he’s hoping that the Bucs’ front office can make him happy by getting something done. However, the NFC South side isn’t showing a rush in things and you can tell Mayfield is not happy about this.

“Obviously, yes, I would love to have a long-term deal done, but they know my deadline: As soon as training camp starts, we’re not doing any contract stuff. It’s all ball,” Mayfield told reporters recently. “It’s not up to me when that gets done by. So hopefully before that. If not — still going to have a good year.”

  • Last on our list for right now is the issues going on with Brandon Aiyuk. He and the San Francisco 49ers clearly are no longer a good fit. The week of June 8, news arrived that the superstar wide receiver is not happy with things. He even called out San Francisco a bit on social media, which caught a lot of people by surprise. The 49ers are looking for a trade partner, but just releasing him might be the best move for everyone. We’ll have to wait and see how things go down there.

Biggest futures, outright and win total moves this week in the NFL

  • It goes without saying, but the biggest change that has come in of late has been the Super Bowl odds for the Los Angeles Rams. You can already guess why, as the Garrett trade flipped the NFL upside down. In terms of NFL betting trends, we’re seeing more and more people bet on the Rams to win it all, as the Rams now hold a strong +650 odds to win the title next season. That’s eye-opening.
  • The Seahawks remain the team with the second-best NFL betting odds to win the Super Bowl next season at +900. However, with them previously being at +850 in late May, it feels a bit disappointing that they saw a bit of a slide. The Seahawks won Super Bowl LX in February 2026 and beat the Rams in the 2025 NFC Championship Game. They’ll hope to do the same once next winter gets here, but that’s of course going to be easier said than done for them.
  • Back to Garrett, he has also seen his Defensive Player of the Year odds climb a bit, as he’s been listed at +350 as of the update on June 9. Garrett is without question one of the best players in the NFL, and the fact that he’s now going to be playing for the Rams, a Super Bowl contender, is only going to put a bigger spotlight on him. Going from the Browns to the Rams is an unreal personal win for him. It’s no question going to pay off for him in a big way too.

Most bet NFL props and markets

As we keep on getting closer to the new season getting here, it has been made clear which futures bets people are paying close attention too. For now, the most NFL prop betting we’re seeing and markets that are being targeted are the Super Bowl, MVP and Rookie of the Year honors. With the Super Bowl betting, we’ve already discussed the Rams a bit, so we’re not going to keep going on with that discussion.

However, the Rookie of the Year betting is where things get interesting. Right after the NFL Draft, we were seeing a ton of bets going down for Fernando Mendoza to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. It made a ton of sense at the time, as Mendoza went to the Las Vegas Raiders with the No. 1 overall pick and he’s set to take over as the team’s starting quarterback. However, let’s keep in mind that Vegas is in the middle of a rebuild and the offensive line has struggled, which will impact things.

With that said, we’re seeing a large rise in the amount of people who are now betting on Jeremiyah Love to win OROY. Love was widely considered the best athlete for this NFL Draft class and he’s hoping to make an immediate splash with the Arizona Cardinals. Love is expected to be the featured back and with his +275 odds to win the honor, we think he’s a playmaker to keep an eye on moving forward.

As for the MVP, this is going to continue to be a race between Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. They have the best odds to win MVP at this time. However, should we start paying a little bit more attention to Patrick Mahomes? The star quarterback tore his ACL late last season, but he’s been on his grind to come back stronger. Mahomes will be motivated to lead KC to the postseason too, as this appears to be the last dance for Travis Kielce. Mahomes is getting more MVP betting love and rightfully so.

NFL betting trends bettors are watching

Elsewhere, we continue to see a bit of a shift when it comes to some divisions and outright odds. We’ll have the full breakdown for you below, but the Green Bay Packers have been a team a bit on the rise this offseason. That shouldn’t come as a major stunner, as Jordan Love is an electric quarterback and he’s going to want to have another strong year in 2026.

The Packers went through plenty of chances in recent months, but will it be enough to take down the Lions? Dan Campbell, Jared Goff and Co. have a Super Bowl in mind for next season and they’re going to be tough to take down as a whole. Only time will tell if the Packers can take down the Lions, but the fact of the matter here is that both teams have incredibly high expectations for ’26. We’ll see how things fluctuate for their NFL playoffs betting odds too come mid-season.

What could move NFL odds next?

Once again, it’s time for us to take a look at the odds for each division next season. With this being the heart of the offseason, it’s tough to envision major changes coming, unless another blockbuster trade comes in at the level of the Garrett one. The Rams of course saw their NFC West odds increase with Garrett now in the fold, but here’s the breakdown on how the rest of the divisions look:

  • Buffalo Bills to win the AFC East at -140
  • Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC North at -150
  • Houston Texans to win the AFC South at +160
  • Kansas City Chiefs to win the AFC West at +180
  • Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC East at +130
  • Detroit Lions to win the NFC North at +200
  • Tampa Bay Bucs to win the NFC South at +175
  • Los Angeles Rams to win the NFC West at +1-5
