With all of that said, no one can argue with the fact that the Big Dance is one of the most popular betting events of the year. It goes without saying, but Florida will also benefit from Opening Day betting later this month. In a special one-game series, the campaign for Major League Baseball kicked off in South Korea this week. Next week, however, there will be a full slate of Opening Day games. Just like March Madness, this will be the first time that people can check the MLB betting odds and put money down.
This is something that people all over Florida have wanted for quite some time. There’s obviously going to be plenty of attention on the Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays. From our chair, it could come down to either the Rays or Yankees to win the AL East, with people all over Florida betting big on both of those clubs. The Yankees were busy this offseason, highlighted by the big-time addition of Juan Soto from the Padres. Soto is considered one of the favorites to win AL MVP this year. Will he be able to get the job done?
That’s up in the air, but Florida fans are counting down the hours for Opening Day to get here. With the Supreme Court status a bit unclear, the hope is that things won’t be impacted before the MLB postseason gets here. The owners of Magic City have had issues with Governor Ron DeSantis and The Seminole Tribe from the moment their large, 30-year pact was announced. They’ve made it their personal business to prevent sports betting from being run by the two sides. That’s why the decision from the Supreme Court is something that people are following closely. It feels like things could go either way, but The Seminole Tribe remains quite confident that nothing will be overturned and sports betting will be here to stay in Florida.
