Supreme Court is Yet to Make Its Final Florida Sports Betting Decision

Will we find out soon what’s going to end up happening with the Florida sports betting update? It’s hard to say. Originally, not long ago, sports betting was relaunched in the state after two years of things being in limbo. Now, though, despite things being legal, the owners of the Magic City Casino are still doing everything in their power to shut things down, including filing an appeal. However, the Supreme Court is yet to make its final Florida sports betting decision. When will they?

A lot of people expected things to be finalized by now, but that hasn’t been the case. Earlier this spring, an extension was filed to give the court more time to try and come to its decision. Plenty of experts and analysts think that the Supreme Court is getting ready to side with Florida, the Seminole Tribe and Governor Ron DeSantis. However, this is all a process and these kinds of projects take time.

Sports betting in Florida has been in and out of courts since 2021. Originally, sports betting was presented in October of that year, but a U.S. District Judge ordered things to be stopped not too long after. Then, all madness broke loose when news dropped that NFL star Calvin Ridley Jr. was betting on NFL games using an account in Florida. This was only more bad publicity for legal wagers in the state.

Since then, though, things are back up and running, with mobile betting being a major hit. The first few months of the sports betting handle were quite fantastic, with the tax revenue also being something to celebrate. Florida remains hopeful that business will be allowed to keep rockin’ as usual, especially with the NFL betting season right around the corner. It will be interesting to see what happens, but Florida should be able to come out on top of this legal battle.

Mobile betting is performing tremendously for Florida

While there are some worries about the Supreme Court drama, don’t forget that mobile betting is performing tremendously for Florida. This is something that lawmakers and officials were excited about from the second the relaunch was allowed to happen. The end of the NFL season was tremendous, especially with the postseason numbers. The Super Bowl betting of course turned a lot of heads, as did the NFL Draft.

Now, a lot of the attention is on the NBA postseason and of course MLB betting. While the Miami Heat are out of the postseason picture, people all over Florida are still following things quite closely. The Boston Celtics have the best NBA Finals betting odds, as they posted the best record during the regular season and they’ve followed that up with strong play in the playoffs now too. In the Western Conference, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a lot of people talking.

As for baseball, both the Rays and Marlins are ready to try and turn heads for the rest of the campaign. It goes without saying, but World Series betting is always going to be quite high across the USA. For Florida, this will be the first year where they have legal wagers available for people in the postseason and then of course in the World Series. Because of this, we have a feeling the numbers are going to be fantastic.

The Rays are chasing both the Orioles and the Yankees at the top of the division. It’s going to be a tall task for them to win the AL East, but they’re only five games back with a ton of season left. On paper, you’d think Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and the rest of the Yankees will be able to lead NY to the pennant, but you never know what might happen. The Rays could go on a run and you better believe people in the state will be ready to bet on it.

Dolphins betting is going to be on fire this fall

MLB postseason betting will be around for the first time and people will also be ready to bet on a full NFL campaign for the first time too. With that said, Dolphins betting is going to be on fire this fall. Miami has high hopes of winning the AFC East this year and their odds have gone up after it was announced they’ve signed Odell Beckham Jr., a former Pro Bowler, to a one-year contract. OBJ is not the same player he once was, but he’s still got the potential to make a big-time impact.

Tua Tagovailoa is one of the best quarterbacks in the AFC and he’ll hope to silence his haters. With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle also part of the aerial attack, Miami has a great chance to win the division and then go on a deep postseason run. Could this be the year when the Dolphins get to the Super Bowl? That’s the hope and adding Beckham to the mix is only going to help them try and post a memorable season. Soon enough, we’ll find out how well this team can perform.
