After so much speculation, the Las Vegas Raiders were finally able to get things across the line with star quarterback Derek Carr. On Wednesday, the two sides – after a while of negotiations – came to terms on a three-year extension which is big for Vegas sports bettors as a whole. Yup, there will be no offseason drama between QB and team. It has Raiders fans betting on the team thanks to the Derek Carr extension.
According to a report, the Las Vegas sportsbooks saw a fury of more bets come in on the Raiders to potentially win the AFC West. They’re not the favorites whatsoever, as the Chiefs are No. 1 in the odds, while experts have the Broncos and Chargers in front of Las Vegas as well in the division. Things are high for the Broncos thanks to the Russell Wilson trade.
However, things are most definitely trending in the right direction for Las Vegas ever since the team made the trade to land Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers. Carr and Adams played together in college and they’ve been talking about suiting up together again for a while. Thanks to the front office, that will keep on going for a long period of time.
Adams inked his new deal with the team after the trade and now Carr has joined him in a new contract as well. Carr’s deal is worth more than $120 million. The team has broken the bank for these two offensive weapons and now fans are ready to cash in on things as well. While the team doesn’t hold high Super Bowl odds, people think they could turn a lot of heads in the AFC West. It’ll be something to watch.

Raiders will be ready to prove their doubters wrong in 2022
Though the season is still around five months from getting here, the Raiders will be ready to prove their doubters wrong in 2022 from the moment Week 1 arrives. In addition to the major moves with Adams and Carr, the team also brought in Josh McDaniels to take over as the head coach. No one has forgotten about Jon Gruden being fired after his disturbing e-mails were revealed.
Now, there’s a ton of pressure on McDaniels, but people are excited to see what he’ll be able to get done. He’s been waiting for his head coaching opportunity, and the Raiders have given him that shot. Ironically enough, the team saw plenty of new bets from folks all over Vegas when he was officially hired. Things will keep rocking in that direction if the team can get off to a hot start in 2022, especially Adams.
“The thing that I attribute all my success to is just living in the moment and playing each game,” Adams said this offseason. “It’s really corny and really basic, but in college [when] I did well, I didn’t even think about the league. I just went and played, had fun, took every game one by one and just thought about stacking it up. It was a one game season every time.”
