You’ve got to love it when the Maryland sports betting news keeps on getting better. In recent months, we’ve seen the sports betting revenue reach a strong point for the state. According to a report, Maryland has seen major improvements in betting handle from last year.
That’s right, a recent report stated that if you compare Maryland’s numbers from last year to this year, the numbers are up 30 percent. That’s a great bit of news for lawmakers and officials, as they were hopeful that things would pick up a bit over the fall and winter after a bit of a slow summer. Again, it makes a ton of sense that the numbers went up in the winter thanks to NFL betting taking center stage.
In Maryland, people love the Baltimore Ravens and they were excited to see Lamar Jackson put on a show after he signed his massive contract extension last offseason. Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and he helped the Ravens boost their Super Bowl odds throughout the year. However, the season didn’t go as planned, as the Ravens suffered a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason.
The Chiefs went on to win their second consecutive title, which was rough to see for everyone in Baltimore. Now, people are focused on the NFL Draft and they’re hopeful that the Ravens will be able to bring in some key playmakers in the early rounds. It will be a huge help for Jackson, no doubt. In more positive news for the state, Orioles betting is off to a strong start for Maryland. This shouldn’t come as a surprise whatsoever, as the Orioles are an incredibly popular team in the region. The excitement surrounding this young club only went up after they were able to win the AL East last season. This was a major stunner, as a lot of folks thought the Yankees or Rays would win the division. Instead, Baltimore posted a campaign to remember.
Thus far this season, the Orioles are 5-3. They’ve been able to post some impressive wins and the hope is they’ll be able to catch fire as we get into the heart of the season. One issue for Baltimore, though, is that the New York Yankees are already looking like a top contender. The Yankees are in first place early on with their 6-2 record. Thanks to Juan Soto, people are dreaming of this team boosting their World Series betting odds over the next few months.

Soto has been one of the best players in the bigs, which is not good for Baltimore. Having said that, the MLB betting action should continue to be tremendous. Once the summer hits, MLB action dominates everything until fall camp arrives for the NFL. We’ve seen strong figures for betting action on the Orioles and that’s only going to keep being the case. Can Baltimore push for another division title? That’s something we can’t wait to find out.

Over the past two weeks, though, college fans all over the state have been placing bets on top teams. Although the University of Maryland wasn’t a primetime team this year, that doesn’t mean that fans in the region weren’t following all of the hoops action closely. Each year, NCAAB betting is strong in the state.
