The division was expected to be won by either the New York Yankees or the Tampa Bay Rays, but Baltimore’s young talent was able to rise to the occasion and get the job done. Baltimore is once again looking strong this year, which is no surprise at all. The Orioles are once again in the hunt to win the division and they’re surely hoping to keep their MLB betting odds high to try and win the World Series. Only time will tell if they’ll be able to go on a deep postseason run.

OTAs are underway and people are still excited over the NFL Draft, which was completed late last month. In Maryland, people absolutely love the Baltimore Ravens and they’re already counting down the days for the season-opener to get here. That excitement has only grown with the news that the Ravens and Chiefs will be facing off in Week 1 to open up the new season.
As we inch closer to that game, even more people are going to be checking the NFL betting odds for that contest. The Ravens and Kansas City faced off in the AFC Championship Game this past winter, with the Ravens favored to post a win. However, the Chiefs were able to make the necessary plays late to post an upset win. The Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl. Now, Baltimore will be out for revenge, but KC will hope to prevent that from happening.

Already, though, we are seeing loads of futures bets come in all over Maryland. There’s optimism leading up to the new campaign, especially with the team landing Derrick Henry in free agency. Henry, in his prime, was one of the best running backs in the game. While he has lost a step or two, he’s still a bruising RB and he’s going to be a lot of fun to watch for the Ravens this campaign.
From the moment he signed, we saw a rise in Baltimore’s Super Bowl betting odds. This is going to take some pressure from Jackson, especially after the team saw Odell Beckham Jr. leave in free agency. OBJ spent one year with Baltimore, but he recently signed a new deal with the Miami Dolphins and Chris Grier. That’s a loss for the Ravens, but the addition of Henry has people feeling a lot more confident as we get ready for Week 1 to inch closer and closer.

It would not surprise us in the slightest to see the summer months hit at least $500 million for the sports betting handle in each month. It will be interesting to see how things go in June, as there will be a big focus on baseball, but golf and tennis will also hopefully provide a spark as well for all of the sportsbooks in Maryland.
