With the good news coming that Ohio Sports betting will arrive on Jan. 1, 2023, this means that people are lining up to get their wagers in place. On top of that, you better believe that folks are also racing to get things in line for customers at locations as well. This is why it should come as no surprise that more than 1,000 businesses applied for sports betting kiosks leading up to that launch date.
Again, this isn’t surprising whatsoever, as folks have been waiting for a while for sports betting to arrive in the state. Now that the official date has been set for Jan. 1, this means that the wait is getting lower and lower for people to check out the best-rated sportsbooks and then move forward with their bets.
Once 2023 arrives, people are going to waste no time betting on their favorite teams. This is why it makes so much sense for different bars to try and add these kiosks to their locations. It’s only going to bring in more people to their establishments moving forward. Come next winter, think how much fun people would have going to their favorite spot and then also being able to make bets too.
This is why bar owners are in a rush to get their applications in for the licenses. Things haven’t been determined just yet, but more news will be on the way for that in the near future. Once owners of those bars are given good news, then you better believe they’ll shift their focus to getting the word out as well. This is going to drive business for them and 100 percent bring in more clientele.

The Jan. 1 Ohio sports betting launch has been confirmed
What has really provided a ton of excitement for people out there is that the Jan. 1 Ohio sports betting launch has been confirmed. With the governor deciding to move forward with that, nothing is going to prevent things from going down. Some people might be a little worried about things being delayed, like how things went down for the Florida sports betting, but no U.S. judge will be getting in the way here.
With the January date in place, too, this means that people all over Ohio will be able to make wagers at the end of the NFL regular season, leading to the playoffs too. This is of course huge news for the Cincinnati Bengals supporters, as they’ll be checking the NFL odds consistently to see how things are shaping out for their team. The Bengals once again have high expectations this year, thanks to quarterback Joe Burrow.
Burrow, the former No. 1 overall pick, was downright brilliant last year. Because of his strong play, the Bengals were able to surprise so many people last season. No one thought that the Bengals would be able to make it to the Super Bowl, but they stunned the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. That was easily one of the biggest upsets of the year.
Now, the Bengals are looking like the favorites to win the AFC North and then make serious noise in the postseason. In order for that to happen, Burrow is going to have to be at the top of his game. People all over Cincy believe that will happen, which is why they won’t be wasting any time whenever January arrives to make their bets. People will be betting big on the Bengals.

Ohio State will be a huge betting player too
It goes without saying, but Ohio State will be a huge betting player, too, once things go through. The Buckeyes figure to be in the National Championship conversation once again, with Ryan Day’s group ready to put on a show. All eyes will, of course, be on star quarterback C.J. Stroud. Stroud is one of the best players in the country, and he’s also going to be in the Heisman Trophy conversation.
If Stroud can play to the best of his abilities, then Ohio State is going to be on the hunt. With the Jan. 1 date, this means that people will have time to make a bet on the Buckeyes depending on which Bowl game they’re in. If it’s the National Championship Game – which could end up going down – then the timing couldn’t be more perfect. This will, of course, be a wait-and-see, but there are high hopes for OSU and Day here.
As a whole, though, the football factor for Ohio sports betting is going to be a booming industry. Not only that, but people will be dropping huge basketball bets too. Don’t forget about the other sports out there, either. As we stated, this has all been a long time coming for Ohio. Luckily, the wait is almost over for sports fans out there. There are zero doubts in our minds that sports betting in the state is going to be quite popular. This will be a lot of fun to see unfold.
