Bettor is on the Verge of Hitting a Wild Parlay at a Las Vegas Sportsbook

Sometimes when it comes to Las Vegas sports betting news, you need a little bit of luck to cash in big time on a wager that your friends might think you’re crazy for making. Just ask an unnamed bettor over in Sin City about that. At the start of the year, this bettor decided to put down $50 on a parlay that he probably thought would never come to fruition. Well, that’s not the case, as a bettor is on the verge of hitting a wild parlay at a Las Vegas sportsbook.

According to a report from the Las Vegas-Review Journal, a fan indeed is on the verge of turning $50 into nearly $100,000. The unnamed person placed a three-leg parlay early in the year, picking the Michigan Wolverines to beat the Washington Huskies in the NCAA National Championship Game, while also picking the Kansas City Chiefs to beat the San Francisco 49ers in February’s Super Bowl. So, what’s left for him to cash in on around $99,000?

The third part of his parlay has the Dallas Mavericks winning the Western Conference Finals and moving on to the NBA Finals. Things are looking pretty darn good right now, as the Mavericks are up 3-1 on the Minnesota Timberwolves in that series. Dallas nearly posted a 4-0 series sweep on Tuesday night, but the Timberwolves won. However, with one more win, the fan will see Dallas move on to the Finals, with his bet hitting.

This just goes to show how much fun and exhilarating sports betting and parlays can be. Again, when this person posted these three futures bets together, did he really think everything would fall into place? If anything, he was probably just having some fun with his favorite teams. Now, though, Dallas indeed is one win away from making this magic happen. It will be interesting to see if it happens or not, but things sure are looking great.

NBA betting for the postseason has been great in Las Vegas

Speaking of the Mavericks, it should be no surprise that NBA betting for the postseason has been great in Las Vegas this year. Despite Sin City not featuring a pro team, people all over town love NBA action and countless people make their way over every spring to watch the action from a resort or casino. Things are coming down to the wire too, as there are only three teams left in contention to capture the title.

As we mentioned above, the Mavericks and Timberwolves are in the Western Conference Finals, with Dallas expected to close things down soon. The Boston Celtics swept the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals, locking them in for the series to try and bring home the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Boston holds the No. 1 NBA Finals betting odds, which has Celtics fans fired up. Boston hasn’t won it all since 2008, but they’re in a great position to end the 16-year streak.

“I’m just happy that we won,” Star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown said after clinching an NBA Finals spot. “And give credit to Indiana, they played us tough. I know people think that Indiana wasn’t a good team or whatever the case may be, but I thought they were as tough as anybody we played all season. They were physical, they were fast, they put a lot of pressure on us. So shout out to them, and respect to them.”

Once the Western Conference Finals wrap up, it’s safe to say that NBA betting is going to reach a new level in Las Vegas. People look forward to the NBA Finals every year and 2024 will be no different. Assuming Dallas moves on to the next round, a Mavericks showdown against the Celtics in the Finals will be quite intriguing. Only time will tell if that happens or not, but Las Vegas officials should expect a monstrous betting handle for June, no doubt about that.

Las Vegas saw a ton of success from the NFL Draft

Elsewhere in terms of great sports betting news, Las Vegas saw a ton of success from the NFL Draft, which is always the case when late April arrives. This year was no different, as plenty of people were getting their wagers in on who they thought would be taken with the No. 1 overall pick. As everyone knows by now, the Chicago Bears went with Caleb Williams at the top. Things only got better for them by also landing Rome Odunze in the first round. As for Las Vegas, the excitement for Week 1 is growing.

It’s been a tremendous offseason for the local team and new head coach Antonio Pierce is quite excited about all of the new additions. Soon enough, the start of the season will arrive and the amount of NFL bets is only going to increase. With OTAs in full swing and minicamps around the corner too, the excitement for the new season is quite high. It goes without saying, but that’s going to be amazing news for the Vegas sports betting handle over the next few months.
