Las Vegas is Bracing for Record-Breaking March Madness Numbers

It’s that time of the year when a lot of the attention for Las Vegas sports betting news is centered on basketball. While people are surely going to be keeping a close eye on the NBA, come on, it’s no secret that people can’t wait for the NCAA Tournament to get here. Conference tournaments are underway this week and the Selection Sunday will be here before you know it. That’s good news for Sin City, as Las Vegas is bracing for record-breaking March Madness numbers. How high will things go?

As most of you know, Las Vegas is fully packed from start to finish for the Big Dance. People love packing their bags and making their way to Nevada for the tournament. The hotels and sportsbooks are packed to the brim with people who have put money down on their favorite teams. This week, Las Vegas is full of people watching the Pac-12 Tournament, where the Arizona Cardinals are favored to win it all.

However, people are checking the NCAAB betting odds for the Washington State Cougars too. It’s been a memorable year for WSU and Kyle Smith was actually just named the Coach of the Year. Not only that, but Myles Rice was named the Freshman of the Year. Last month, WSU actually traveled to Tucson and was able to stun No. 4 Arizona on their home floor. Will another upset be on the way this weekend in Vegas?

People are going to be checking in on the action and then the focus will turn to the NCAA Tournament. Things are only going to keep on climbing once we get to the Sweet Sixteen, the Elite Eight, the Final Four and then of course the National Championship Game. There are plenty of teams who will be ready to cut down the nets after the final game, with UConn expected to earn a No. 1 seed. It will be interesting to see how everything goes down, but the betting action will be unreal.

Las Vegas is hoping March Madness can mirror the Super Bowl success

It goes without saying, but Las Vegas is hoping March Madness can mirror the Super Bowl success from this year’s contest. Similar to what’s expected for the NCAA Tournament, Super Bowl week was incredible in Vegas this year. That’s because the game was played at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders. People from all over the globe made it to town for the game and all of the other festivities.

While the NCAA title game won’t be in Vegas this year, that doesn’t mean for a second that people aren’t going to be traveling in large packs to the city for all of their betting action. If anything, the Super Bowl was able to showcase that Vegas can always host an influx of people. As we’ve mentioned, that’s 100 percent going to be the case for this year’s NCAA Tournament, with people placing all kinds of bets, not just on the hoops action.

Ironically enough, people are already racing to get their futures bets in for NFL betting next season. The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2022 and 2023 and now they’re ready to three-peat, something that’s never been done in NFL history before. They hold the top Super Bowl betting odds and a lot of people in Vegas are putting their money down on them for next February. Will Patrick Mahomes and Co. be able to do the unthinkable? Who knows, but Vegas visitors are confident.

With free agency being so popular in the NFL too, it’s only getting Las Vegas Raiders fans even more excited for the 2024 campaign to get here. In late April, the NFL Draft is going to be a ton of fun to watch too, with people getting their early bets in on who will end up being the No. 1 overall pick. People in the area will be betting on the Raiders’ first-round pick too. All in all, sports betting has been amazing in recent months for Las Vegas and the NCAA Tournament will only make things better.

MLB betting in Las Vegas should be on the rise too

One thing to keep in mind as well is that MLB betting in Las Vegas should be on the rise too. Why, you ask? It’s because it has already been revealed that the Oakland Athletics will be closing up shop soon in California and they’ll be making their way to Las Vegas. This has been in the works for quite some time and people could not be more excited for the MLB’s future in the city.

Plans are underway for a new MLB stadium and it has only added to the intrigue of the team arriving. Because of this, people in Las Vegas are showing more interest in the sport, plus also betting on baseball games. Opening Day is right around the corner and an eye-opening amount of bets will be on the way. We’ll keep an eye on how things go in Vegas, but we expect impressive numbers, no question.
