FIFA Scandal Odds

Unless you’ve been living under a rock – or working 18-hour days building soccer stadiums in Qatar – you’re likely aware of the ongoing FIFA scandal that has led to the arrest of numerous officials and the resignation of FIFA president (and Dr. Evil impersonator) Sepp Blatter.

With the legitimacy of FIFA’s bidding processes coming under fire – in particular for the 2022 World Cup, which was awarded to Qatar, and the 2018 World Cup, which was awarded to Russia – many are calling for the rewards to be unreaped and the tournaments to be moved.

FIFA has been entirely resistant to the idea so far, though, and we’re already less three years away from Russia 2018, making a change of venue pretty untenable.

Below, we take a look at the odds that the impugned tournaments will be moved, who’s likely to host the 2026 World Cup, and who will have the honor of taking over the fecal-soaked reigns once held by Blatter at FIFA. Check back for updates if and when new happenings arise and doings occur.

Odds the 2018 World Cup is not held in Russia: 120/1

Odds the 2022 World Cup is not held in Qatar: 6/1

• Qatar (after the 1st one goes so well) – 1,000,000/1

Odds on who will replace Sepp Blatter:
