The Crimson Tide are the favorites to win the National Championship. While Steve Sarkisian’s men are still rebuilding a little bit, they sure have what it takes to pull off an upset in this one. Alabama is of course favored, but Texas is ready to try and shock the world. A week 2 loss for Alabama would be devastating for its College Football Playoff odds for 2022. Now, the Longhorns want to try and put a dent into things early on.

He’s one of the top quarterbacks in the country and he’s a lock to be a first-round pick in the NFL Draft next spring.

No new Texas sports betting updates is bad news
Looking at things as a whole, no new Texas sports betting updates is bad news for the state as a whole. With sports betting not coming in 2022, and things totally up in the air for 2023, people continue to be less optimistic that officials are going to push forward with anything in the near future. Yes, this is making college football fans upset, but think of all the people who would have loved to make bets after checking out the Super Bowl odds for this campaign.
Things started off in a big way for the NFL on Thursday night with the matchup between the Rams and Bills. Both those teams have strong Super Bowl odds and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see them win it all. Over in Texas too, people are always going to be focused on the Dallas Cowboys. It feels like it’s going to be a make-or-break season for veteran quarterback Dak Prescott. He’s in the second year of his massive four-year extension too.
In order for Prescott to get people off his back, he not only needs to power Dallas to an NFC East title, but he needs this squad to go on a deep postseason run as well. Football fans all over Texas are hoping that the Cowboys can push for the Super Bowl, yet the fact that they can’t make any legal bets on the team is rough to see. AT&T Stadium will be packed from start to finish this season.
Things would have only been made better for the local fans if they could have made bets on this team to make things more interesting. Yet as things stand, no one knows what’s going to happen. The fact that there’s been no update on things only adds to the frustration. Across the country, we’re seeing more and more states push forward with sports betting. In Texas, though, people are sitting on their hands without any action being taken.

Jerry Jones remains hopeful sports betting will come soon
If there’s one positive to take into the fall for people in the state, it’s that Jerry Jones remains hopeful sports betting will come soon for Texas residents. The Cowboys owner has been pushing for things for a while now and that’s not going to change. Jones has been adamant about getting sports betting to Texas. He knows the major benefits it will have from a college, NFL, and NBA standpoint.
Jones follows the Texas Longhorns closely, as he’s always been a fan of the program and the kind of talent they produce. For people in Austin, there’s nothing they love more than seeing Longhorn players make their way to Arlington to play for the Cowboys. As soon as sports betting is made legal, they’ll be ready to place bets on the Longhorns and Cowboys, no doubt about that. When will that happen? We can only hope it will arrive soon.
