2 Things Bettors Need to Know Today (Oct. 11)

If you are looking for a brief summary of what you need to know today to make informed betting choices, you’ve come to the right place! We’ll make sure you’ve got the most up-to-date map before you embark on your sports-betting voyage.

1. Clayton Kershaw isn’t on short rest, for once

If you’re a Dodgers fan, Clayton Kershaw on short rest in the NLDS is a yearly appointment with varying results. This year, that streak has been broken, and the Arizona Diamondbacks weren’t able to force the Dodgers into using their ace to close the series. The Dodgers are currently +225 favorites to win the World Series, and if they can keep their best assets sharp, they’ll have a great shot at fulfilling that.

Betting Tip: If the Cubs/Nats series drags on, the Dodgers will have a big advantage in the NLCS.

2. The Carolina Panthers might be a bargain

The Carolina Panthers are listed at +2000 to win the Super Bowl, which is a little puzzling. The Panthers are 4-1 and first in the NFC South, but are listed well behind the Patriots (+450), whom they beat on the road two weeks ago, and a fistful of other teams.

Cam Newton is embroiled in a minor scandal and still coming back from injury, but both he and the team looked really good last Sunday against the Lions. Newton has thrown for more than 1,200 yards this season, and that line might get a lot shorter if the Panthers beat the Eagles this week.

Betting Tip: There could be value on Carolina +2000 right now. (I can’t get enough of the Patriots as favorites despite being 3rd in the AFC East.)
