When it comes to legalizing sports betting in California, the long wait appears as though it could be over sooner than later. Heading into the summer, multiple different parties were trying to get a proposition on the ballot, which is set to be going down in November. Having said that, California sports betting officially down to two propositions is the news that people were expecting, and things have now been locked in.
According to a report, the voters over in California will indeed be voting between two separate propositions. The first one is being backed by the tribal casinos, which would also for sports betting to go down at authorized locations powered by said tribes. The other one is being powered by the major sportsbooks, with the goal of also seeing a large portion of money going to help out mental health and homelessness issues.
As things stand, it looks like things really are neck and neck between the two sides, as we’re also seeing more and more ads be presented to try and sway the voters. What has been surprising in this case is that some casinos have actually backed the sportsbooks and think that it would be a good idea for them to move forward with their plan. This has stunned plenty of people.
For those sportsbooks, some of the biggest players out there have teamed up for this project. FanDuel, DraftKings and more are ready to take the lead for the California sports betting. However, the tribal casinos on the other side are ready to make something happen in their favor too. Only time will tell who the people of California go with, but November sure will be interesting.

What’s good in this case is that California sports betting feels like a lock right now. The first hurdle was to get things on the ballot in the first place. Now, though, the local citizens are ready to have not one, but two options to take a look at. From our chair, it feels like the option being provided by the sportsbooks might have a bit of an upper hand, but you really never know how things might shape out.
Regardless of how things go down, the fact of the matter is that California is on the brink of sports betting being pushed through. This has long been overdue and that can’t be overstated. California is one of the biggest states in the USA and they feature a boatload of top teams, both at the professional and collegiate level. The fact that betting hasn’t been allowed yet has been a joke.
More than 30 states have moved forward with it and people have been counting down the days for change to come in Cali. Now, though, people will be turning their focus to November, as the voting process will be watched closely. After that, whoever wins this race will then look to move quickly to get the wheels in motion for getting everything set up. This will be crucial for the end of the football season.
Each fall and winter, billions of dollars are bet on football. People waste no time in checking out the NFL odds, while the NCAAF odds also capture plenty of attention. That’s going to be the case this year too, no doubt about it. As soon as California sports betting is given that green light and things are put in place, people won’t be wasting a second to make their bets consistently.

When could California sports betting be put into place?
The question so many people have on their minds right now is when could California sports betting be put into place? Well, that’s tough to say, as we first need to wait and see what happens in November. As soon as one of the propositions comes out on top, then they surely won’t be wasting any time in moving forward with the process. Matter of fact, both sides are probably working on things as we speak.
After November comes, then it shouldn’t take long for all the final things to be put into place. With that said, this won’t happen overnight and people will still need to be a little patient. However, the hope is that things would be able to be ready by the time the NFL postseason arrived. That’d be huge, as it would also go hand in hand with the start of the NBA season too.
In terms of California sports teams both the NFL and NBA are always going to be on top. However, college football and college basketball are also incredibly exciting, so people will want to get in on the action there as well. It goes without saying, but the sooner Cali sports betting can be presented, the better it will be for everyone. Folks have been waiting a long time for this. Fortunately, things are moving in the right direction and could come to fruition soon.
